Hello & welcome to share and discover all about Taiji. As I have mentioned in the Header, it will be a real waste if the Art of Taiji cannot continue and be perpetuated. Although there are many practising this form of exercise, I felt only a very few are really practising it well.
Yes, it is alright to continue practising the steps faithfully as a form of exercise and to keep fit; however, to derive the utmost benefits and to ensure that this Art do not continue to deteriorate, it is very important to consciously bear in mind that it needs to be maintained, and even improved.
I am very fortunate to have been introduced to this Art (& Science) of Taiji some 15 years back.
Since then, except for a break of a few years due to business travelling, I have been attending lessons conducted by Master Chow Cheong King (see picture above). Master Chow is one of the immediate disciples of Grand Master Huang Xing Xian. Master Chow developed a very keen interest in Chinese Pugilistic Arts at a very young age of 10 years old. He learned various arts from various masters in Shaolin Kung Fu, BaGua Quan and both the 'Yang' and 'Chen' Style Taiji.
After 20 years of learning these arts, he began teaching at the age of 30 and is now actively conducting Taiji lessons and other martial arts in both English and Mandarin.
Grand Master Huang learned from Great Grand Master Zheng Man Qing (Cheng Man Ching) and improved the Yang Style 37 steps for the benefit of all his students throughout South-East Asia.
Master Chow improves it even further and taught each and every step, as well as the transitional movements linking each step, in such great details, it MUST be documented and shared so that it will continue to benefit all.
